DJ MERLIN
Dj Merlin aka Tony started practising on the decks late 1991 at the age of 14 on a set of old and brutal Sound-lab belt-drive's, he eventually moved onto technics 1210's.
He was given the name Merlin by his friends as he was into magic in a big way back then - so it stuck. Tony started in the House scene and played at many pubs & clubs around Leicester, Nottingham, Derby & Loughborough. After listening to rock and house in his earlier years, he started listening to Hardcore in 1994, he started buying it on vinyl and moved away from playing in the commercial scene.
He loved hardcore so much he started raving as soon as he looked old enough to get past the bouncers and the scene was better than anything he'd ever experienced before. Merlin's home became the Dielectric Club - DIEHARD, he raved there on many Friday nights until it shut in 1998.
Even though Diehard was his favourite club, He still managed to do many other events including Hardcore Heaven & Helter Skelter at the Sanctuary & Rollers Arena's in Milton Keynes & Dreamscape at shepton mallet + many more across the country.
After seeing how talented the hardcore dj's in the scene where, he thought he had best bury himself back in his trusty 1210's and put many more hours practice into dj'ing hardcore. He has always used vinyl and will never move to Cd's, He really loves scratching and wants to further his knowledge in this art-form. For the last six years Merlin has also been playing hardcore live on different radio stations Including Diehard radio, hardcore-radio.co.uk and on kraftyradio.com which he now plays every Friday from 7-8pm.
Over the last few years he has had many bookings in the scene for the likes of "x-treme energy" and many other events including Fully charged hardcore, Rapture, Universal Hardcore @ Ravers Re-united and more.
Finally he plays for free & for the love of it!Â
